NO FUN IN THE SUN

Monday, July 12th, 2010

A few days ago, I passed by the opening for fellow artist, fellow 12oz blogger and fellow human Todd James at Gallery v1 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I did a show with Todd 9 years ago at Houston Gallery in Seattle, and I can only say that he continues to lay it on thicker and brighter. Todd has always reflected on the absurdia of contemporary culture and issues, and now he is reminding you of the sickness of war, violence, ignorance, conflicts and poverty that sometimes lead to bold actions like piracy. All with his humorous swagger that makes you wanna laugh, but then you realize..wait..this shit is real..some places..it aint no fun, even in the sun. The art work is dope.

Art to Fashion

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I recently did this shoot for an interesting lady who is not slowing down despite her age of life experience, her name is Christophe De Menil, and homegirl is 77. I didnt know her before hand, but it turned out that she is Dash Snow’s (r.i.p) grand mother and I was asked to shoot her new clothing and jewelry line, it’s beautiful and pricey as quality is.
Check the looks in the Gallery section above, in the fashion section, or read more about Christophe’s story in the current W mag society interview here.
